BEYOND THE POND PODCAST: THE 2/28/03 NASSAU TWEEZER

Beyond the Pond is a bi-weekly podcast in which Brian Brinkman (@sufferingjuke on Twitter) and David Goldstein (@daveg924 on Twitter) use the music of Phish as a gateway to introduce the listener to many other bands, the vast majority of which are not jambands. An episode generally begins with a deep dive into a designated portion of Phish improvisation, and then can spin off to any variety of musical themes and other acts, the overarching purpose being introducing the listener to as many new and different bands as possible.

On this episode, with the help of our good friend and Online Phish Tour contributor Ben Greenfield (@GuyForgetOPT on Twitter), we dive headlong into the majesty that was the 2/28/03 Tweezer from Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. In addition, we take a deep dive into the Winter 2003 tour in general, while maybe saying some less than nice things about B.B. King. We also explore some of our favorite non-Phish albums from 2003, while using the Nassau Tweezer improvisation as a conduit to discuss several non-jambands the listener will enjoy, as is the Beyond the Pond way.

We appreciate you listening, and are certain that you will learn something new over the course of ninety minutes. You can review and subscribe to Beyond the Pond on iTunes, or simply listen through the player below.
