It begs repeating that unofficial videos are no longer welcome, if one feels they ever were. Having said that, I enjoy this quite a bit, and, as a fan of the golden age of broadcasting, I also really appreciated the 1950s throwback Live Phish introduction to the webcast as well as the little logo that accompanies this video bottom right.

It's a very forgettable Tweezer. They sounded disjointed, then the ripcord change happens. I think Trey knew Tweezer hasn't happening and wanted to get out of it as fast as possible. Sand is much tighter. That's how Phish should sound when they groove.

"Not forcing it" seems like a better description than calling it a "ripchord". Ripchord makes it seem like it was going somewhere great and they just stopped for some reason. That didn't happen. The jam had gone some interesing places but nothing really caught on. Seems like the best time to move on to the next song. That's musicianship.

In fact, they probably sound so tight on Sand because they (or maybe just Trey) listened to whatever was telling them in their heads it was time to move on.

This isnt just semantics either. This is an important distinction that lots of people don't get and this video is a good example of it.

The clean-sounding semi-arpeggiated section (4:57-6:25) at the initial part of the Tweezer jam is quite enjoyable to these ears. Quality of the version aside, they do cover a lot of ground, as by my count there are at least 3 different sounding jams before going into Sand.

I was up on the lawn for this and I always get excited about that opening Tweezer riff. That being said, on a relisten, it's pretty standard and short. Nothing too special.

I also have to say that it would be AWESOME if this video were captured from a different perspective...perhaps from the fan's perspective. I hear they are being assholes about that kind of thing, though. It's too bad.
